Treatment for Hereditary Cornea Disorders


Corneal dystrophies are a group of genetic, usually progressive, eye disorders in which the abnormal material usually accumulates in the transparent outer layer of the eye called as cornea. Corneal dystrophies won’t cause any symptoms (asymptomatic) in some individuals, but in others they can cause significant vision of impairment.
Treatment is tailored to the each individual disease & the individual patient. Treatments may include medications, surgery or laser treatment, based on the condition.
