ICL

data

An ICL is an Implantable Collamer Lens which works with the eye to correct the vision. Dissimilar with the traditional contact lenses which go on the surface of the eye, the ICL is placed inside the eye in between iris (which is the coloured part of the eye) & the natural lens. Once it is implanted, the lens will stays indefinitely in the eye. If the vision changes noticeably over time, the lens can be removed easily or can be replaced.

PROCEDURE:

The ICL technique is almost painless, & will take mostly the same time as a typical LASIK technique to operate each of the eye. Patient will be given an anaesthetic to numb the eye, so patient won’t feel any pain.

The implant operation is quick & painless, and lasting only about 10-15 minutes. The area surrounding the eyes will be cleaned & a sterile drape will be applied around the eye. When the eye was completely numb, an eyelid speculum will be introduced in between the eyelids to keep you from the blinking while performing the procedure. The recovery time was too short & the result of the surgery is almost immediate. Most of the patients can resume to their normal activities within a week.
