B.Sc Optometry is an Undergraduate Program. Optometry is a health care profession which deals with examination, diagnosis, treatment & management of several eye diseases & disorders of the visual system. It is also called as vision care science. It can also be described as science of the eye equipment (which includes lenses & spectacles) which is imbued with an idea of improving the vision of the human eye & remove all kinds of obstacles to the sight which an individual may experience. This is a dynamic & challenging career which allows one to help people, achieve career & also personal growth, community respect, job flexibility & financial success & also offers virtually and unlimited opportunities.
THE COURSE INCLUDES:
Estimation of refractive errors of the eye & prescribe corrective measures which includes Spectacles, Vision theraphy, Contact Lenses and Low Vision Aids. Detection of the pathological conditions of the Visual system. Diagnose ocular & related systemic and also neurological diseases and pass the cases to other medical professionals for detailed medical & surgical management. Designing, manufacturing, prescribing all the types of Optical aids which includes Spectacles, Ophthalmic lenses, Sunglasses, Contact Lenses, Low Vision aids.
